UVB-40 Bitumen Modification Unit (40 m3/hour)

The amounts of construction worldwide are huge and require the corresponding volume of bitumen. Rise of traffic intensity and increased traffic load caused the situation when usual binding materials are unable to ensure proper service life. That is why modifiers are used to improve bitumen performance. They give construction materials heat, frost and water resistance, shear strength and durability.

Operating principle of UVB-40

The main element of the plant is a colloid mill with 40 m3/hour processing rate. A mix of bitumen, adhesion additive and plasticizer are fed to the mill by inlet pump. Inside the colloid mill preliminary blending of components occurs. Then the mix bursts thought mill discs under pressure, ensuring product homogenizing.

The main feature of UVB-40 colloid mill is that it is a mixer and homogenizer at the same time. It performs preliminary blending and grinding, as well as homogenization of the product with polymer. Mixing is achieved by wetting of bitumen with polymer, simultaneously mixing it with blades.

Temperature and pressure of bitumen and plasticizer, as well as the finished product are controlled at every point of the process. Displacement of polymer with bitumen is controlled at the plant inlet.

Reverse bitumen pipeline can perform gradual heating of the separate elements of the plant, as well as flushing it with fresh bitumen. The rotary feeder of polymer input block is driven by asynchronous motor controlled by frequency converter.

Screw conveyor is supplies bitumen to plant inlet. Continuous operation of equipment can be achieved by installing an additional polymer discharger.
