Colloid mill CLM-16/25
The CLM-16/25 colloid mill is designed to homogenize and emulsify liquid products, particularly thick slurries with high shear stresses, with a primary focus on preparing bitumen emulsions. However, it is versatile enough to be utilized for the preparation, dissolution, and processing of various products across different industries.
Operating on the principle of a rotor/stator system, the CLM-16/25 mill comprises concentric tool rings, such as cutters and knives, with specialized configurations of grooves and holes to ensure optimal mechanical impact on the processed product. In operation, the tool rings of the rotor and stator align coaxially and rotate contact-free at high speeds, facilitated by axial and radial gaps.
The processed product enters the mill housing through the axial bore of the stator (product inlet), traverses the rotor/stator system, and exits radially (product outlet). During this passage, the product undergoes complex hydrodynamic processes, including changes in shear stresses, shear forces, and flow velocity. The increased contact surfaces of chemical agents within the rotor/stator system accelerate chemical reactions, resulting in intensive dispersion, emulsification, homogenization, grinding, and pulverization of the processed product.
