USB-2 Bitumen emulsion unit 2 m3/hour production capacity

The USB-2 bitumen unit is versatile, designed to produce both anionic and cationic bitumen emulsions essential for road construction purposes such as base coating on existing road surfaces, preparing cold asphalt concrete mixes, surface treatments, applying thin film protective coats, and patch repairs.

The USB-2 bitumen emulsion unit employs a sequential blending process in hydrodynamic mixers, operating at specific pressures and temperatures. Its innovative design enables rapid blending of component streams within the hydrodynamic mixer, resulting in a compact unit with reduced energy consumption. The final stage of producing a uniform water-bitumen emulsion is carried out in a colloid mill, ensuring superior product quality.

Equipped with advanced process control instrumentation, the unit allows for both manual and semi-automatic operation, providing flexibility in production processes.

Water-bitumen emulsion, a dark brown liquid, is produced by dispersing bitumen in water with surfactant additives, serving various crucial roles in road construction. It acts as a protective layer for roads, including asphalt, gravel, or concrete surfaces.

Key applications include:

  • Creation of tack coats for road construction.
  • Permeation and surface treatment in road surface construction.
  • Formation of thin film wear layers.
  • Patch repairs using mineral-emulsion mixtures.

It can be operated either outdoors under a canopy or indoors, making it suitable for integration into asphalt concrete production facilities.
