USB-3 Bitumen modification unit 16 m3/hour production capacity
The USB-3 Bitumen Modification Unit offers a production capacity of 16 m3/hour, addressing the increasing demand for modified bitumen in the growing road construction and repair market.
Utilizing a double stream process, this unit effectively reduces the load on the mill’s shearing part, thereby extending the mill’s service life.
Ensuring compatibility between bitumen and polymers is crucial for achieving a high-quality final product. By absorbing oil components of the binder, polymers preserve its structure, transforming bitumen into an elastomer with enhanced elasticity through the modification process.
In the modern petrochemical industry, professionals strive to maximize the yield of light oil products while extracting most of the paraffin-naphthenic fractions from bitumen. However, this can reduce its flexibility at low temperatures and softening point at high temperatures.
Most modern bitumen loses elasticity at approximately 20°C and begins to soften between +45°C and +48°C. This renders the use of non-modified bitumen inefficient for applications such as road construction, which requires a binder with a temperature range from -40°C to +70°C, and roofing materials, which are often exposed to temperatures up to 90°C.
Fortunately, bitumen properties can be enhanced and adjusted by mixing it with various additives. This is best achieved through specialized bitumen modification units like the GlobeCore USB-3 Bitumen Modification System.
